Name of Country: Canada
The national flag of Canada has two vertical bands of red (hoist and fly side, half width) with a white square between them; an 11-pointed red maple leaf is centered in the white square. The red color is a symbol of Canadian sacrifice during World Wars, while the white color is the symbol of peace and tranquility reflecting neutrality and impartiality of Canadians. Historically it's believed that the maple leaf became a Canadian symbol as early as the 1700's as the First Nations peoples were using the sap of the Maple tree for food long before Canada saw ships on her horizon and we must remember they introduced Maple Syrup to the Europeans.
